Our dressing sticks reduce wear rate and increase the life of the tooling for optimal glass edge quality. DAOTIAN offers dressing stick thicknesses from 2.0 and above. More sticks are available for other special applications.

The grinding wheel surface is designed to be rough, with a given relation between active cutting particles (diamond peaks) and void volume. This void volume is supposed to absorb and eject the grinding particles and grinding dust, which is generated during the grinding process. For non-self-dressing grinding wheels, we observe that with advancing time in service, this void volume fills up with pollution of grinding dust, binder particles, and coolant residues. Moreover, the cutting edges of the diamond particles get rounder and blunt or are broken out. Consequently, the reduced abrasion potential will cause increased friction between the grinding wheel and the workpiece. The temperature in the contact zone increases, leading to the melting of glass particles, which again severely pollute the grinding wheel. Disk dressing is supposed to produce new diamond layers and cutting edges (and to remove the pollution within the void volume).
