Grinding burn failure is the failure that often appears in the process of glass edge process with the diamond grinding wheel. How should we analyze its cause
and apply the right treatment when such situation occurs? We will provide the analysis and solution below:
1. The reason for the glass burn in grinding operation with diamond grinding wheel: The main causes are that the coolant is insufficient, the grinding wheel is blocked, or the setup parts are not fitting correctly with the grinding wheel.
2.We provide following methods to deal with the glass burn problem.
(1) Thicker the grinding wheel structure, reduce the diamond density, or adjust the amount of diamond protrusion.
(2)Adjust the amount of coolant, nozzle direction or location, etc.
(3) Improve the feed speed and shorten the zero trimming time.
(4) Increase the amount of dressing and reduce the hardness of the grinding wheel.
