Grinding wheel hardness affects many aspects
Jul 11, 2022
A single hardness problem can affect all aspects of the grinding effect, such as grinding immobility, grinding heat, finish, life and so on.
Another friend encountered three problems in the current use of grinding wheel: finish, life and vibration marks.
Let's look at the usage first and then analyze it.

Grinding wheel and usage for customers:
Resin bonded diamond grinding wheel, 80# grain size, processed brake disc, material gray cast iron.
The customer has used two kinds of grinding wheels, the same specification, the same granularity, the same binder grinding wheel, the only difference is hardness.
Hard grinding wheel: life satisfaction, poor finish.
Soft grinding wheel: the smoothness meets the requirements, the service life is short, there are vibration marks
From the above we can draw the conclusion that:
1. The hardness of grinding wheel will also affect the finish
2. The hardness of grinding wheel affects the service life
3. The hardness of grinding wheel will cause vibration marks.
Let's break it down one by one:
1. Too hard grinding wheel will affect the finish: Is the softer the better the finish? The answer is negative, too hard or too soft will affect the surface finish.
2. The hardness of the grinding wheel affects the service life: if the grinding wheel is too hard, it cannot be used at all. If the grinding wheel is too soft, the service life will be short.
3.The hardness of grinding wheel will lead to vibration marks: too hard will make grinding immovable, causing vibration; too soft will make the part of workpiece receiving touch more sand, resulting in uneven abrasive layer, causing vibration marks.
