Cubic boron nitride (CBN) grinding wheel

CBN is a super hard material, second to diamond, makes it an ideal choice for processing difficult-to-process materials such as cemented carbide and high-speed steel.

CBN is far more stable at high temperatures than diamonds, means that during high-speed cutting or grinding, the CBN abrasive tool is not easily degraded.

Maintaining their cutting properties is essential for machining difficult materials.

Single crystal CBN can maintain excellent performance at high temperatures, because of its high thermal stability. Even the high temperatures generated during high-speed grinding do not passivate it. In addition, its low chemical affinity for iron group metals means there is no adhesion during grinding. Thus, the cleanliness and grinding efficiency of the grinding tool are maintained.

Coating technology works by adding one or more layers of a specific material to the surface of CBN particles, such as metals, ceramics or other compounds to improve their properties.

These coatings not only protect CBN particles from wear, but also improve their wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and even heat resistance.
